John Foster has served Rusk County, Texas
as a court reporter for 39 years and for the last 23 years,
has owned his own court reporting business in Henderson, Texas.
As a frequent speaker, he entertains audiences on East Texas
life, bloopers from the court room, patriotism, and faith.
John has spoken to employees of corporations, school faculty
members, church groups, public service employees, and numerous
associations. He is known for delivering humor in one breath
and a serious thought the next.
John’s professional peers have honored him with several
awards: Texas Court Reporters Hall of Fame, Liberty Bell
Award from the Rusk County Bar Association, and the Distinguished
Service Award from both the Court Reporters Association
at the state and regional level.
Active in his community, John has volunteered on church
committees and sponsored the annual banquet held by the
American Heart Association. He has worked with a Community
Home for Children, the YMCA, and has served as an officer
on his professional association.
John is a Certified Shorthand Reporter for the State of
Texas and a member and Registered Professional Reporter
of the National Court Reporters Association. He earned his
degree in court reporting from Southwest Business College.
